In the sportswear industry, "good enough" is not an option. When a garment is subjected to intense sweat, friction, and stretching, even the smallest flaw becomes a major failure. A split seam or a fading logo can destroy a brand's reputation overnight.
At Dhalay International, Quality Control (QC) isn't just a final step; it is an integrated culture. We utilize a 3-stage inspection protocol and rigorous laboratory testing to ensure zero defects.
The 3-Stage Inspection Protocol
We don't wait until the product is finished to check for quality. Our inspection happens in real-time during the manufacturing process.
1. Inline Inspection (During Production)
QCs patrol the sewing floor continuously. As operators stitch garments, inspectors check for immediate issues like:
- • Needle breaks or skipped stitches.
- • Correct alignment of patterns and stripes.
- • Consistency of tension in the seams.
2. Mid-Line Inspection (Assembly Check)
Once the garment is assembled but before trimming/finishing, a batch check is performed. This catches structural errors like incorrect labeling, wrong size tags, or asymmetry before the garment is finalized.
3. Final QC (Pre-Packaging)
This is the gatekeeper. A final AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) check is performed on the finished goods. We measure dimensions, check for loose threads, inspect print/embroidery quality, and verify packaging compliance.
Rigorous Lab Testing
Visual inspection catches what we can see. Lab testing catches what happens over time. We subject fabric samples to stress tests before bulk production begins.
Shrinkage Test
Fabric is washed and dried 5 times to ensure it maintains its size and shape.
Colorfastness
Testing for color bleeding when exposed to water, sweat, and rubbing.
Seam Strength
Applying pressure to seams to ensure they don't burst under movement.
Pilling Resistance
Rubbing fabric to ensure it doesn't form unsightly fabric balls.
Common Defects We Eliminate
Through our strict QC process, we identify and reject garments with the following "Red Flags":
Zero Tolerance List
- Skip Stitches: Gaps in the seam that will expand into holes.
- Uneven Hemlines: Wavy or crooked bottom hems.
- Shade Variation: Slight color differences within the same batch (dye lot inconsistency).
- Oil Stains: Machine oil spots on the fabric.
- Misaligned Labels: Care labels sewn in sideways or upside down.
Understanding AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit)
Dhalay International operates on standard industry AQL levels to determine pass/fail rates for bulk shipments.
| Defect Type | AQL Standard | Definition |
|---|---|---|
| Critical Defects | 0.0 | Zero tolerance (e.g., needle left in garment, hazardous material). |
| Major Defects | 2.5 | Visible defects that make the garment unsellable (e.g., hole, stain). |
| Minor Defects | 4.0 | Slight deviations from spec that don't affect usability (e.g., loose thread). |
