Basketball Uniform Fabrics
The complete fabric range for high-performance basketball uniforms — mesh, interlock, dazzle, and ripstop. Engineered for sublimation, built for the court, shipped to 40+ countries worldwide.
What Are Basketball Uniform Fabrics?
Basketball uniform fabrics are a specialized category of lightweight, high-performance polyester textiles engineered specifically for the physical demands of basketball — constant sprinting, jumping, lateral movement, and extreme sweat output (1–2 liters per game).
Unlike casual sportswear, basketball fabrics must satisfy a strict set of requirements: moisture wicking rated at Grade 4+ (AATCC 195), air permeability above 180 mm/s (ASTM D737), stretch recovery above 90% after 5 cycles, and colorfastness Grade 4+ for both wash and light exposure.
Our basketball fabric range covers polyester mesh (150–180 GSM), heavy interlock (180–220 GSM), dazzle cloth (140–160 GSM), ripstop (160–200 GSM), piqué mesh (180–200 GSM), and tricot mesh (120–160 GSM) — every construction a basketball program or brand might need, all from a single source.

The 6 Basketball Fabrics We Offer
Each construction serves a distinct purpose — from maximum airflow to premium visual impact to tear resistance.
Where Basketball Fabrics Sit in the GSM Range
Basketball demands the lightweight end of the sportswear spectrum — every gram saved is performance gained.

Why These Fabrics Win on Court
Basketball-specific engineering that separates professional-grade fabric from generic sportswear material.
Moisture Wicking
Hydrophilic finish pulls sweat from skin to fabric surface where it evaporates rapidly — player stays dry, uniform stays light.
Maximum Breathability
Open-knit mesh constructions achieve 180+ mm/s air permeability — hot air escapes, cool air enters, continuously.
Ultra-Lightweight
120–180 GSM means the jersey itself weighs 150–250g — players barely feel it, reducing fatigue over 40+ minutes.
4-Way Stretch
8% spandex integration allows full range of motion — crossovers, dunks, and defensive slides without restriction.
Shape Recovery
90%+ recovery after 5 stretch cycles — jersey returns to original form after every game, wash after wash.
Quick-Dry
Evaporates moisture in under 15 minutes — uniform is game-ready again at halftime or between tournaments.
UV Resistant (Optional)
UPF 30+ finish available for outdoor basketball — blocks harmful UV without adding weight or reducing breathability.
Sublimation Ready
100% polyester accepts dye-sublimation permanently — colors become part of the fiber, never crack, peel, or fade.
Every Garment in a Basketball Program
From game-day jerseys to practice gear to fan merchandise — the right fabric for every piece.
Proven Fabric Combinations
The most ordered jersey + shorts pairings — field-tested by teams at every level.
Mesh Jersey + Mesh Shorts
The industry standard — 150 GSM mesh for the jersey, 180 GSM mesh for shorts. Maximum breathability, full sublimation, and the lightest total set weight. Used by 70% of our basketball clients.
Interlock Jersey + Dazzle Shorts
The premium look — 180–200 GSM interlock jersey feels heavier and more structured, paired with 150 GSM dazzle shorts for the classic sheen. Common for pro teams, colleges, and high-end replica lines.
Ripstop Jersey + Ripstop Shorts
Maximum durability — 160–180 GSM ripstop resists tears from floor contact and player grabbing. Ideal for youth programs, outdoor courts, and leagues where uniforms take heavy abuse.
Basketball Fabrics — Head to Head
Choosing the wrong basketball fabric costs you in performance, aesthetics, and reorders. Here's the full picture.
| Property | Poly Mesh | Interlock | Dazzle Cloth | Ripstop |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GSM Range | 150–180 Lightest | 180–220 | 140–160 | 160–200 |
| Surface Texture | Open-hole knit — visible holes | Smooth both sides — solid look | Smooth with shiny sheen Most Striking | Smooth with grid pattern |
| Breathability | Highest — open structure Best | Low — solid knit | Low-moderate | Moderate — grid allows some airflow |
| Weight Feel | Nearly weightless | Substantial — premium feel Most Premium | Light with visual weight | Light-moderate |
| Sublimation Quality | Excellent — holes add depth | Excellent — smooth surface | Good — sheen slightly shifts color Note | Good — grid visible under print |

Honest Assessment
- Extremely lightweight — players report feeling "unrestricted" compared to cotton or heavy poly-blends
- Full sublimation capability — unlimited colors, gradients, photographs, and complex designs with zero extra cost per color
- Superior moisture management — wicks and dries 3–5× faster than cotton at equivalent weight
- Dimensionally stable — under 2% shrinkage after 50+ washes, maintains sizing season after season
- Color permanence — sublimated colors are part of the fiber, never crack, peel, or fade
- Lower per-unit shipping cost — lightweight garments mean more sets per carton
- No color matching issues between runs — digital sublimation ensures exact repeat accuracy
- Individual player customization at no extra tooling cost — names and numbers in the same print pass
- 100% polyester feels less "natural" than cotton — some consumers prefer cotton touch for lifestyle wear
- Mesh fabrics are difficult to embroider — stitch distortion through open holes limits decoration options
- Lightweight mesh has lower tear resistance — not ideal for rough outdoor play without ripstop reinforcement
- Sublimation requires minimum order to be cost-effective — setup costs make 1–5 piece orders impractical
- Dazzle cloth's shiny sheen can cause slight color shift under different lighting — affects color-critical branding
- Polyester retains odor faster than cotton — requires antimicrobial treatment for multi-game use
Decoration Methods for Basketball Fabrics
Sublimation dominates basketball — but other methods have specific use cases.

Full Sublimation
The dominant method for basketball — dye is heat-transferred directly into polyester fibers at 200°C. Produces all-over, edge-to-edge, full-color designs with zero texture change. Team names, numbers, logos, sponsors, and complex graphics all printed in a single pass with no per-color cost.

Screen Printing
Best for simple 1–3 color designs on interlock or dazzle fabrics. Produces bold, opaque graphics with a slight hand feel. More cost-effective than sublimation for very large volume orders with simple artwork — but cannot match sublimation's color range or all-over capability.

Heat Transfer / DTF
Ideal for small orders, individual player names, and number changes mid-season. DTF (direct-to-film) produces photographic quality on any basketball fabric. No screen setup means fast turnaround — perfect for last-minute roster additions and single-piece replacements.
Tailor Every Detail
Basketball uniforms are highly customized — we offer deep control over fabric specifications.
Mesh Hole Density
Standard, micro-hole, or macro-hole — controls airflow vs. print surface ratio.
Stretch Integration
92/8, 95/5, or 100% poly (no stretch) — more spandex means more freedom, less print sharpness.
Wicking Finish Level
Standard wicking or enhanced hydrophilic — for extreme sweat environments and hot climates.
Antimicrobial Treatment
Silver-ion finish prevents bacterial growth — essential for multi-game uniform reuse.
Multi-Panel Construction
Combine 2–3 fabric types in one jersey — mesh body, dazzle sides, interlock shoulder panels.
Reversible Options
Contrast-color reversible construction — two uniforms in one, ideal for tournaments and practice.
Ordering Process
From design concept to delivered uniforms — a streamlined 5-step process.
