Our durable range uses high-tenacity polyester and nylon yarns (6.0+ cN/dtex vs. 3.5–4.5 for standard), tighter weave constructions, ripstop reinforcement grids, and specialized anti-abrasion finishes. The result is fabrics that survive 30,000+ Martindale abrasion cycles and 50N+ tear strength — compared to 8,000–12,000 cycles and 15–20N for standard sportswear fabrics.

Best Methods for Durable Fabrics
Heavy, tight-weave fabrics demand specific ink formulations and techniques — what works on lightweight knits will fail on durable constructions.

Screen Printing
The #1 method for durable fabrics — the heavy, tight surface provides excellent ink adhesion. Plastisol ink is strongly recommended: it sits on top of the fabric surface (rather than absorbing in), creating a bold, opaque print that survives abrasion without fading. Water-based inks can sink into tight weaves and appear washed out — we use high-opacity plastisol for all durable fabric screen printing.

Embroidery
Durable fabrics are the best possible substrate for embroidery — the heavy weight and tight structure support maximum stitch density without any distortion or show-through. Large chest logos, back designs, sleeve crests, and 3D raised embroidery all perform flawlessly. This is the recommended method for workwear and security uniforms where embroidered logos connote authority and professionalism.

Sublimation (100% Poly Only)
Works excellently on 100% polyester durable fabrics — ripstop polyester sublimates beautifully, with the reinforcement grid creating a subtle textured depth in the printed design. Cannot be used on poly-cotton blends (cotton rejects dye-sub). If your brand requires all-over print on durable fabric, specify 100% polyester ripstop — it's the only durable construction that supports full sublimation.
