What Is Merino Wool Fabric?
Merino wool is a premium natural fiber sourced from Merino sheep — primarily bred in Australia and New Zealand. Unlike standard wool which can feel coarse and itchy, superfine merino (18.5–19.5 microns) is thinner than a human hair and feels as soft as cotton against the skin, making it the only wool suitable for next-to-skin sportswear.
In sportswear, merino is typically knitted into fine-gauge single jersey or interlock constructions. We produce merino in 100% superfine merino, 96/4 merino-spandex (for added stretch and recovery), 50/50 merino-tencel (for enhanced drape and cooling), and 85/15 merino-nylon (for abrasion-resistant outdoor garments) — across 140 to 300 GSM.
Every batch is Superwash treated for machine washability, tested for micron accuracy (±0.5μ), shrinkage (≤2%), pilling (3–4 grade), and colorfastness (4+ grade). We source top-tier Australian and South American merino tops for consistent quality.

Printing & Decoration Methods
Merino requires strict temperature control — heat is the enemy of wool. These are the safe, proven methods.
Low-Cure Screen Print
The best method for merino. We use specialized low-cure plastisol inks that set at 130°C (265°F) instead of standard 160°C — protecting the wool from heat shrinkage and felting. Excellent opacity and durability.
Embroidery
The best method for premium logo work on merino. The fabric's stable structure holds stitches with excellent definition and minimal puckering. No heat is applied during embroidery, making it the safest decoration method for wool fibers.
Water-Based / DTG
Water-based inks and modified low-heat DTG work on merino with a soft hand feel. Standard DTG pretreatment requires high heat that damages wool, so we use specialized low-temperature pretreatment. Best for short-run, full-color designs on lighter merino fabrics.
