What Is Recycled Nylon Fabric?

Recycled nylon (polyamide) is nylon 6 or nylon 6,6 polymer that has been recovered from waste streams and reprocessed into new textile fiber. The waste sources include abandoned fishing nets (the single largest source — an estimated 640,000 tons enter oceans annually), industrial nylon scrap from carpet and textile mills, and post-consumer nylon garments collected through take-back programs. A 120 GSM recycled nylon training top has comparable durability to a 150 GSM polyester top.
