The only consideration is pile depth: micro fleece (short pile) produces the sharpest print detail, while deep-pile heavyweight fleece may soften fine details slightly. Polar fleece is one of the easiest fabrics to care for, but a few rules maximize its lifespan: wash in cold or warm water (30–40°C max) — hot water can damage the anti-pill treatment and cause excessive shrinkage. Turn garments inside out before washing to protect the brushed surface from abrasion. Do NOT use fabric softeners — they coat the polyester fibers with silicone residues that reduce the fabric's moisture-wicking and quick-dry properties. Avoid bleach entirely — it degrades polyester fibers and causes discoloration. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry — high heat can melt or distort polyester fibers and will definitely reduce anti-pill effectiveness. Do not iron — polyester melts at approximately 250°C and even low-heat ironing can create shiny patches on the pile.
